Introduction to BGI’s DNBseq™ Technology and its Applications
July 30, 2019
NOVA: Suite 799, 505 W. Olive Ave. Sunnyvale
Ke Zahn
Director of Product Management
BGI Americas
BGI has developed DNBseq™ sequencing technology which combines the power of DNA nanoballs (DNB), PCR-free rolling circle amplification, patterned nano arrays and cPAS to deliver a new level of data accuracy and affordability. Since the introduction of the first sequencer based DNBseq™ technology in 2015, NGS data from DNBseq technology is well documented with over 200 peer-reviewed publications and is widely adapted by global researchers through collaboration with or service by BGI with over 50,000 samples sequenced so far. In this talk, we are going to introduce the DNBseq technology and its applications, including WGS and RNA-Seq.
Ke Zhan, PhD is the Director of Product Management for BGI Americas. He is responsible for managing BGI’s product portfolio with comprehensive sequencing and bioinformatics services for genomic research, medical, agricultural and environmental applications. Over the past decade, Ke has been with various biotech and diagnostic companies focused on NGS technology development and product management, supporting the development of NGS-based assays and non-invasive cancer diagnostics. Ke received his PhD of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Indiana University School of Medicine, and his Postdoctoral performing molecular patogenesis research in Neurodegenerative diseases at Stanford University Medical Center.
