Event Speaker Bio:
Yifan Mao attended Santa Clara University School of Law. During law school, she externed for the Honorable Beth Labson Freeman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and interned with the Entrepreneur Law Clinic of the law school. Yifan has been admitted to practice in the State of California since 2015. Before her legal career, Yifan held research positions at Genentech and Genencor International (now DuPont Industrial Biosciences). Yifan was a senior patent agent at an agriculture biotechnology company where she developed the company’s patent portfolio on genomics, bioenergy, and trait improvement technologies. Yifan joined the law firm of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, LLP upon graduation of law school, where she practices intellectual property law. Yifan focuses her practice on patent counseling, prosecution, and due diligence matters in the chemistry and life sciences industries. In addition to law practice, Yifan publishes extensively on legal issues relating to patent law; see a list of Yifan’s published blog articles. She is a co-author of chapter 31 of “Drug Approval Considerations and Patent Linkage System in China,” Pre-ANDA litigation, Strategies, and Tactics for Developing a Drug Product and Patent Portfolio, third Edition. Yifan is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the MEMO|Medicine & Molecules, the Kilpatrick Townsend Biopharma Industry Blog.
