Event Description:
A typical endoscopy patient will see 2-3 hospital visits before they get knocked out with sedation and have a tube inserted into their body, often just to give a physician the chance to perform a live visual inspection. What if we could turn that arduous and expensive process into a simple video call in the comfort of your own home? PillBot is the world's first free-swimming robotic platform inside the human body, enabling active visual inspection without any of the major hurdles classically associated with endoscopy. Just skip breakfast, have a few glasses of water, and swallow PillBot over a secure video call with your doctor around lunchtime. We use a patents-pending quad-pumpjet propulsion system in conjunction with a low frequency radio link to bring active locomotion to the formerly passive world of pill cameras. This allows us to enter and disrupt the $67B endoscopy devices market, and to drastically lower the costs and barriers to entry for world-class medical diagnostics, whether you live in a cosmopolitan city or a refugee camp.

He is the person you go to with a napkin sketch to take it all the way to a physical product treating patients in a clinical setting. Torrey took Endiatx through the Founder Institute Winter 2019 Silicon Valley cohort, where he took on the mantle of CEO.
