FDA Trends: What we’re likely to see in the post-COVID, post-Trump era

Event Description:
The new year brings a new administration and new challenges for FDA as it reels from the chaos of 2020. The new Commissioner has not yet been named, and unified Democratic government historically brings with it an increase in regulatory activity. Meanwhile, the Agency must juggle continuing to approve new COVID vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics while maintaining its existing workload for all other products and addressing criticism from both regulatory hawks and doves of its handling of COVID-19. This talk will attempt to "read the FDA tea leaves", look beyond the immediate COVID crisis, and predict what trends in drug and device regulation are likely in the next 2 years.
