BIONews and Protecting the Legitimacy of Medical Expertise: Combating Misinformation Medicine

While misinformation has always challenged the healthcare system, the problem came into stark relief during the Covid-19 pandemic – with deadly consequences. Dr. Richard Baron, the President and CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the ABIM Foundation, has been a leading voice in efforts to combat medical misinformation and its harmful effects on the physician-patient relationship and the healthcare system.
