Increasing Therapeutic Protein Production by Engineering Mammalian Cells
Event Information
Event Topic:
A Better Way to Manufacture Therapeutic Proteins: Engineering Cells to Make Them More Productive
Event Description:
This seminar will give an introduction to the production and use of therapeutic proteins to treat disease. Problems and solutions affecting commercial manufacturing will be presented, along with the CHO Plus solution. CHO Plus has engineered cells to have much higher levels of endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus—the cell organelles involved with protein production and secretion. CHO Plus results and projected improvements will be presented and discussed.

CHO Plus
Event Speaker Bio:
Larry Forman is the Founder and CEO of CHO Plus. He has decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly working in the field of mammalian cell culture process development. Through all these years most process improvements involved either improving culture media to support more cells or finding faster ways to screen cells to find those producing more of your protein of interest. None of these improvements increased the protein productivity of individual cells. Until now.
