Biomolecular Weapons for Fighting Covid-19
Professor Daniel’s research team has been working tirelessly on understanding how biological cells function. Their research has discovered weaknesses in the coronavirus’ spike structure. These findings may lead to novel and effective drug therapies. At our event, we will learn about the team’s discoveries and the potential treatments that can mitigate the effects of coronaviruses in people. With the rise of COVID variants, their research is of the most utmost relevance and importance.
Professor Susan Daniel, BS, MS, PhD is the Fred H. Rhodes Professor of Chemical Engineering and the William C. Hooey Director of the Robert Frederick Smith School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She is the principal investigator leading the Daniel Research Team, an interdisciplinary group with specialties in chemistry, materials, and biology. Their goal is to understand cell membrane functions and cellular processes that will lead to new biotechnologies.
