Event Information
Event Topic:
“Learning Through Doing” in Virtual Environments
Event Description:
Simulated patients and environments are the ‘flight simulator’ training systems for healthcare professionals. Millennials, as well as, older learners find the realism and feedback of clinical problem scenarios as both engaging and thought- provoking. Particularly in team learning scenarios, discussion during and after the scenario provide as much learning as the content within the scenario. We will present different technologies, from simple micro-games to highly realistic simulated operating rooms, and discuss how learning principles can be embedded within these scenarios.
