SenSonic is the world’s only hearing aid capable of user-configurable audiometric measurement and shift-on-the-fly reprogramming when the wearer moves from one environment to another. For example, when the wearer leaves his/her quiet home or office to drive in heavy traffic he/she will select the appropriate SenSonic mode from a smartphone. The system will be reconfigured automatically from “quiet mode” to “car mode” and the disruptive car noise will be eliminated for the wearer. This is a revolutionary step towards empowering wearers with self-programmable hearing aids that do not require the intervention of an audiologist.
SenSonic consists of three parts:
1) SenSonic Neckband Hearing Aid has the widest distance between Microphones and Receivers of any hearing aid. It eliminate the need to have an acoustic feedback cancellation algorithm which compromises speech amplification.
2) Wireless Ear Sets with Interchangeable Receivers tuned to hear speech or hi-resolution music.
3) Remote Wireless Microphone enables crisp, clear speech in noisy environments that allows the wearer to hear subjects up to 30 feet away from it.
Event Speaker Bio:
In 2004, Udhaya joined Vivatone Hearing LLC as head of international sales. He is widely credited with popularizing and ensuring the adoption of receiver-in-canal (RIC) style behind the ear (BTE) hearing aids. The RIC hearing aid is undisputedly the industry’s biggest innovation in recent times. RIC technology was brought to market by surgical industry pioneer Mr. Leon Hirsch and inventor Dr. Natan Bauman, and Udhaya had the privilege of working alongside their co-founder Ms. Turi Josefsen. The duo established key markets outside of the USA for RIC hearing aids at a rapid pace which triggered Vivatone’s acquisition by US Hearing Aid giant, Starkey Hearing LLC.
Following the success at Vivatone, he was headhunted to join another innovative US hearing aid start-up, Sonic Innovations, Inc. As Director of world-wide sales at Sonic Innovations, Inc., he pioneered the controversial sale of hearing aids directly via the doctor’s office instead of through audiologists. This resulted in wearers being able to purchase their hearing aids from a known trusted source at greatly reduced prices.
The mission of BionicSound, Inc., which Udhaya co-founded in 2015 is to create a totally new style of hearing aid. Drawing upon the experience gained in previous successful companies SenSonic was created to address the market need for hearing aid performance and comfort improvements. The innovative neckband system is the world’s first self-programmable hearing aid without the intervention of an Audiologist. SenSonic’s neckband aims to become the global market leader within the next 5 years.
