Abstract Summary:
I will review the history and taxonomy of machine learning and artificial intelligence, introduce deep learning, highlight a few deep learning applications to biomedical problems across the field, and do a deep dive into three recent deep learning applications from Google Brain.

Biography Summary:
Mark DePristo has been a Google software engineer since 2015. He leads the Google Brain Genomics team that works on advancing the capabilities and applications of deep learning for genomics problems.
